Enfield MPs Nick de Bois and David Burrowes have written to a train company to voice commuters' concerns about recent cancellations and delays.

Delays and cancelled trains have blighted the First Capital Connect (FCC) train service to Kings Cross and Moorgate stations in recent weeks.

Trains normally go through Crewes Hill, Gordon Hill, Enfield Chase, Grange Park, Winchmore Hill and Palmers Green stations.

However, persistent problems have caused the MPs to act.

In a letter today to FCC, the Enfield North and Southgate MPs highlighted several incidents during the past two weeks and demanded something was done.

It reads: “I am sure you are aware of the appalling delays and disruption to services on the Kings Cross/Moorgate line and in particular the Hertford Loop which affects our constituents.

“Inner city services will get priority but why are the Enfield passengers seemingly the last priority?”

On Monday, December 2, signalling problems caused a journey from Enfield Chase to Essex Road to take one hour and 25 minutes, an hour longer than a standard journey.

The letter concluded: “I would appreciate an urgent response, before the Christmas break and a plan of action to help mitigate what has become a very troubling and frustrating situation for my long suffering constituents.”
