A BEXLEYHEATH woman suffering from dementia is appealing for help finding her car - as she can't remember where she parked it.

Marie Wand left her Danson Road home on November 27 for an appointment at the Memorial Hospital in Shooters Hill but instead bought a Papa Johns pizza.

The 83-year-old, who suffers from Alzheimer's, returned home to her family at around 7.30pm the same evening, but without her beloved light blue Vauxhall Corsa.

Marie's family have been searching for three weeks and want to bring the car home in time for Christmas.

Marie's daughter Sacha Wand, 48, from Widecombe Road, Mottingham, says the family are "desperate" to find the car so their mum can go to her pre-planned Christmas Day hotel lunch.

Sacha, a mother of-three, said: "The only place we know for definite that she went to was to get petrol from Hastings Road in Bromley and she got a Papa Johns pizza from somewhere.

"All we know is that it was from somewhere called 'unit 5'.

"She seems to have got a cab from the takeaway because it was dark and all we know is that it cost her £35.

"It would have been from a distance of about 17 miles away. "We believe the car could be parked in Bromley, Catford, Lewisham, Sydenham or Sidcup but we need help finding it."

The family have been in touch with the police but because the car is taxed and insured there is nothing they can do because it is not illegal.

Ms Wand added: "We have been out looking for the car for three weeks and now we just feel we have no other option but to appeal to the general public for help.

"The whole family has got together and we have had meetings and have been out several times looking for it.

"It would make Christmas so much better if the public can help us find it.

"All she can remember is that the car is packed somewhere near a wooded area, she still even has her shopping in there."
