Woman from Kingston pushed onto tracks at Clapham Common
A woman from Kingston was pushed onto tracks at a tube station in south London.
British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses after the 68-year-old passenger fell on to the tracks at Clapham Common underground station at 3.20pm on Sunday, December 15.
The woman fell after two men left a northbound train pushing and shoving one another.
One of the men fell backwards, pushing the woman onto the tracks.
Detective Sergeant Tom Madden said: “The victim, a 68-year-old woman from Kingston, was standing on the platform when she was knocked on to the southbound tracks by two men who were pushing and shoving each other.
“The men had just left a train on the northbound side of the island platform.
"During the scuffle, one of the men fell backwards, and collided with the victim, pushing her on to the tracks on the southbound side of the platform.
“The victim was immediately helped to safety by other passengers. She sustained bruising and has been left extremely shaken by the incident."
Two men, both aged 23, were arrested on suspicion of endangering safety and remain in custody.
