A five-year-old from has won the annual Edmonton Christmas card competition with her artistic design.
Nurhan Orhan, of Wilbury Primary School, had her festive card picked from thousands of applicants by Edmonton MP Andy Love and the Enfield Independent.
Now in its 17th year, the competition had 1,164 entries from primary schools around the area.
Nurhan’s winning design will be used on 2,500 cards sent out by Mr Love to his constituents.
Delivering the good news personally, the Edmonton MP was delighted the competition is still popular amongst schools in Edmonton.
He said: “It was an absolute pleasure to meet Nurhan and it was lovely that her family and whole school could share in her achievement during assembly. She’s definitely got an artistic flair for someone so young. I’m sure her art set prize will be put to good use.
“As always we had a great response to the competition. The children clearly put a lot of effort in to their designs so it makes my job of picking a winner extremely difficult. I’d like to extend a special thanks to all of the children and their teachers for taking part. Now I have to get down to the signing.”
