Two 1930s steam trains passed through Walthamstow and Leyton on Saturday.
The Cathedrals Express journey from Southend to Chichester headed through Leyton just after 9.30am as it made its way towards the carol concert at Chichester Cathedral.
The two LMS Black Fives, 44871 and 45407 Lancashire Fusiliers, were steam hauled over the Tottenham and Hampstead line, and passed through Leytonstone High Road, Leyton Midland Road and Walthamstow's Queens Road and Blackhorse Road stations.
