Write a poem about Barnet

Budding writers are being encouraged to pen their very own poem about Barnet as part of a national competition.

Participants have to write a poem about their life in their home town, and the best will win £1,000 in cash.

The aim of the annual competition is to encourage more people to write poetry.

Entries must be no longer than 160 words and 25 lines long, with each blank line counting as one line.

To enter, send your poem to Local Poem, United Press Ltd, Admail 3735, London, EC1B 1JB, visit www.unitedpress.co.uk or call 0844 800 9177.
