A teenager was assaulted and his mobile phone was stolen in a woodland area near Brooklands College in the middle of the day.

The 16-year-old was walking in the wooded area between Heath Road and Brooklands Lane at about 12.40pm on Monday, December 2, when he was approached by two men.

The robbers knocked the teenager to the ground and stole his Samsung Galaxy S3 before running towards the field opposite the woodland by Brooklands College.

They are thought to have run across Brooklands Lane and down March Road.

One robber was white, about 6ft, skinny, with short brown hair and short, light stubble.

It is believe he was wearing a black puffa jacket and dark blue jeans.

The second robber was white, about 6ft, with brown hair and was wearing a dark coloured T-shirt.

Detective Constable Suzy Marten said: “This was clearly a very frightening experience for the victim and quite understandably he has been quite shaken up by the ordeal - we are doing all we can to find the people responsible and bring them to justice

“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or seen anyone matching the descriptions above in the area around the time of the offence, to come forward as their information could be vital to the investigation.”
