TODAY we’re asking whether you prefer to buy your music in the physical form of a CD or the virtual form of a download.

Compact discs generally cost more than a download but they provide something to actually hold in the hand. They give a stronger feeling of ‘owning’ music compared to buying an album from iTunes or other online music stores.

As well as being several pounds cheaper to buy in a lot of cases, downloads do not take up any shelf space. Plus they don’t get scratched.

Which format do you like to purchase your music in? Do you ever still buy CDs? Does it simply come down to being a technophile vs a technophobe or are there other reasons for preferring either CDs or downloads over the other?

Are you someone who is even more old-school and likes vinyl records more than CDs or downloaded files?

Or do you listen to music but don't keep it, such as streaming online or listening to the radio?
