Shoppers dashing out to get the last minute gifts in the run up to Christmas can enjoy free parking across the borough.
For the second year running, all Elmbridge Council owned car parks will have their charges scrapped all day from Saturday, December 21, through to Tuesday, December 24.
The proposal, which had overwhelming support, is intended to support local businesses and encourage residents to make the most of all the unique shops on offer in Elmbridge.
The announcement was made at a meeting of the full council on Wednesday, December 4, by leader of Elmbridge Council Councillor John O’Reilly.
Coun O’Reilly said: “I’m pleased to announce that, for the second year, Elmbridge Council is offering businesses, residents and visitors an early Christmas present with free festive car parking in the run up to Christmas.
“This is an opportunity to promote enterprise and the local economy even more than before and reflects our desire to support our businesses and our residents in hard times.”
