A second man was arrested yesterday over anti-Semitic Twitter messages.

An unnamed 48-year-old was held at his Canning Town home on suspicion of inciting racial hatred in connection with an offensive tweet sent after the Tottenham v West Ham match on October 6.

He was taken into custody at an east London police station where he was bailed until January.

Last week an unnamed 55-year-old man was arrested at his home in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, on suspicion of malicious communications.

He admitted sending Twitter messages on the same day referencing Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust.

Anti-Muslim messages were also found on his Twitter account.

He was cautioned.
