A 10-year-old from Stroud Green has won the chance to create her very own Christmas card.

Rose Garrett has been named the winner of The Mall shopping centre’s Christmas Gift Card competition.

Her drawing of Rudolph and Santa, which is her favourite thing about the festive season, will be printed and sold as a limited edition card at the shopping centre in Wood Green.

The 10-year-old also received a £50 gift card featuring her design as well as an art set.

Rose said: “I am really excited to have won as I’ve never won a competition like this before, although I’ve entered loads.

“It’s a real achievement in my life. It was great to be able to tell my mum and dad that I’d won too.”

Additionally, Rose’s school, St Gildas’ Catholic Junior School, in Oakington Way, received a £200 Gift Card.

The prizes were presented at the school which included a special visit by Father Christmas and the Mall Monster.

The competition was open to all school pupils between the ages of four and 11 in the borough and pictures could be computer generated or hand drawn.

The only criteria was that pictures follow the theme of ‘my favourite thing about Christmas is’.
