A crackdown on gangs has resulted in dozens of people being arrested in a two-day operation.

As part of Operation Naddoox, police have arrested 15 people from the boroughs of Enfield and Hackney.

The first phase of the operation took place on Thursday, November 28, and saw ten men arrested for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, namely heroin and crack cocaine. All ten have been charged and remanded in custody.

The second part of the operation took place on Tuesday, November 3, as more than 120 officers from Enfield’s Gang Unit carried out a early morning raid across the boroughs.

At 5.30am, six addresses in Arnos Grove, in Enfield, and Clapton, in Hackney, were targeted, resulting in five men being arrested.

The man aged between 16 and 22 were all arrested for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, namely heroin and crack cocaine.

Detective Chief Inspector Tim Champion, Trident Central Gangs Unit, said:"The operation demonstrates that we will always act upon information given to us about those involved in gang-related criminal activity.

"By working with the boroughs across London, Trident Gang Crime Command aims to prioritise, tackle, arrest and place before the courts those who commit gang-related crimes.

"We have been working with officers from Enfield for the past three months and during that time we have executed a total of 46 warrants and made 155 arrests of which 105 are known gang members. This has resulted in a significant reduction of serious youth violence, robbery, gun and knife crime.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Healy, Enfield Borough, said: "The operation is the culmination of a joint effort from the Trident gangs teams and Enfield Borough to target those involved in gang related criminality.

“We will continue to target those who do not accept offers to change their gangs lifestyle through enforcement. The people of Enfield will benefit from these two operations as those arrested begin their custodial sentences.

“We have demonstrated that we have the means and capability to target those involved in such criminality and bring to bear the full strength of the law."
