Painted figures of Mary and Joseph are calling a Hinchley Wood church home this week.
The figures, which are on loan from Teddington Baptist Church, are making their way around the county as part of an Advent pilgrimage created by BBC Surrey.
The radio station's Sunday breakfast show made their own twist on the old Mexican tradition of Posada and sent the figures off on a journey on Sunday, December 1.
The painted figures were blessed by the Dean of Guildford live on the show before visiting a number of host churches before arriving at St Christopher’s Church.
Emily Jeffery, Sunday breakfast presenter and producer, said: “This is a great opportunity for us to connect with local churches of many different styles and traditions and to find out what they are up to as they prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ.”
Mary and Joseph will eventually arrive in the studios of BBC Sussex in Brighton on Christmas Day.
