A refurbished youth centre has been reopened with a range of new features for Sutton's young people.

The Quad Youth Centre, Green Wrythe Lane, Carshalton, was reopened by the Mayor of Sutton, Councillor Sean Brennan, on November 27.

Added features to the centre include new interview rooms, a crèche, teaching kitchen and office space for a team of multiple agencies including youth and social workers.

The Youth Offending Team, Learning Difficulties and Disabilities Advisers, Joint Adolescent Service and Youth Service will now also work from the centre.

Programmes will also be available to reduce anti social behaviour during the half-term and holidays, along with support and activities to promote positive behaviour.

Cllr Dave Callaghan, Chair of Sutton Council’s Children, Family and Education Committee, said: "The improved centre is a superb resource for Sutton’s young people and their families.

"They will now be able to access services from a central point, which removes the inconvenience of having to go back and forth between different centres across the borough.

"This will also allow staff to work more effectively with young people at risk of anti-social behaviour and school exclusion, to help boost their life chances and opportunities."
