LONDON Mayor Ken Livingstone has not visited Ealing for more than two years - not since the last mayoral election in 2004.

The damning revelation came in a response to a question by assembly member Andrew Pelling this week.

Mr Livingstone has, however, had time to visit Cuba, considerably further away than West London.

The date of his last visit was November 11, 2004.

Richard Barnes, London Assembly Member for Ealing and Hillingdon was shocked by the news.

He said: "At his own admission, the Mayor has not visited Ealing since well before the last General Election. His last visit was some 25 months ago, however since then he has had the time to visit Cuba.

"The Mayor's priorities are wrong and the charms of Ealing are greater than those of Havana.

"The Mayor's first New Year's resolution should be to keep in touch with the people of Ealing," he added.

The Ealing Times asked the Mayor's office for a comment, but no one was available.
