TEETHING problems over a new waste collection scheme will be confined to history's rubbish bin within a month, Wycombe's council chief says.

Readers have told the Free Press they are unhappy about collections not taking place at all while some do not like the number of bins they now have to use.

More than 700 households did not have their bins collected after a new waste scheme was rolled out across the district. Wycombe District Council started its new service on October 28 - the same day that a storm hit.

It was reported that the collections would be delayed but some residents were still waiting a week later. The new service means residents can now recycle glass, batteries and even textiles in containers and bags that have been provided..

Cllr Richard Scott, Leader of Wycombe District Council, said: "I think within a month any complaints we've had I think will be dealt with.

"This has been a major change and like any major scheme there are upsides and downsides. "We've had some complaints that have been dealt with very rapidly by the waste team. "Equally we've had quite a lot of compliments too. People do like the blue bins for recycling.

"They do like the fact that their food waste is being collected once a week.

"So we've probably had as many compliments as we've had complaints."
