An art exhibition will raise money for a Barnet hospice caring for seriously and terminally ill children.

The annual Art for Ark's Sake event displays work from well-known celebrities and emerging artists throughout December.

Celebrities who have given up their time to produce art for the auction include tennis player Rafael Nadal, actor and comedian Johnny Vegas, actors Sean Bean, James Purefoy and Fay Ripley and musician Andy Bell from Beady Eye.

All of the pieces will be auctioned on December 14, with proceeds going to Noah's Ark Children's Hospice, based in High Barnet.

The exhibition is being staged by Crouch End residents Ellie Northam and Bex Davies to raise awareness of the charity which has supported more than 200 families in North London, including Ellie's daughter, Bella.

The Art for Ark's Sake exhibition takes place from Wednesday December 4 to Saturday January 4, at The Original Gallery, Hornsey Library, Haringey Park.

On Saturday December 14, a special afternoon is planned with face painting, cakes and refreshments from 1pm until 5pm.

Doors open again at 6pm for a charity auction at 8pm. During the evening there will be an opportunity to meet some of the artists who are exhibiting at the event.
