Colourful rockets have lit up the skies above Richmond in the past week, with fireworks displays held across the borough to celebrate Guy Fawkes and bonfire night.

People of all ages braved the cold and rain to marvel at the colours that exploded overhead for the Beatles-themed fireworks display at Richmond Athletic Ground on Sunday, November 3.

The display was set to tracks from the Fab Four and visitors also enjoyed live entertainment from boyband Class A, solo artists Josh James and Jake Sim as well as dance troupe Vital Signz.

Richmond Athletic Association’s office and events manager Carly Feore said: “About 5,000 to 6,000 people turned out as expected and it was a fantastic event.”

Other displays in the borough included the NPL Sports Club’s family fireworks evening and a gunpowder family event in Crane Park.

The Anglers in Teddington welcomed about 1,500 people to its annual display, which raised more than £1,000 for the RNLI and St Richards School in Ham through donations and stalls at the event.

The Barnes bonfire night was unfortunately cancelled due to windy conditions but has been rearranged for this weekend. See Vibe for more details.
