Big support for unemployed youths in Richmond
Unemployed young people in Richmond can turn to a new intensive support programme launched by the council this week.
Positive 4 U provides support to young people not in education, employment, or training.
It offers four programmes across two years and will help 40 young people including those with disabilities.
Councillor Christine Percival, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “Although 96 per cent of our children and young people are in education, employment, or training, we will do everything we can to support the remaining four per cent who are in danger of falling into permanent unemployment.
“Positive 4 U will get our borough’s most vulnerable young people prepared and supported to have the confidence, resilience, skills and experience to progress to education, employment or training.”
