YOUNGSTERS were fascinated by the Mayor of Bexley’s giant ‘ribbon cutting’ scissors as she formally opened part of their school.

Councillor Sharon Massey dropped into Foster’s Primary School, in Westbrooke Road, Welling, to open three new classrooms.

Headteacher Bruce Fletcher said: “We are delighted to have these modern resources for the children to enjoy.

“We can proudly claim to have a long tradition to build on and fantastic new resources to use for years to come.”

He added: “Children in Year 1 from Wattle Class were excited to see the Mayor.

“They were particularly interested in the huge mayoral scissors that had been used to cut the ribbon.”
