Driver bailed over collision with teenager on Great North Way in Hendon
The driver of a car that hit a teenage boy on a Hendon dual carriageway has been bailed following his arrest at the scene.
Police detained the man after the red Nissan Micra struck the 16-year-old on Great North Way (A1) northbound at the junction with Tenterden Drive on Friday morning.
The boy was rushed to a major trauma centre at St Mary’s Hospital but is due to be discharged this week following treatment for whiplash, a scrape to the face and a cut to the leg.
Investigators have released the driver on bail until early January.
