SUTTON-AT-HONE residents have had their say about plans to convert the Greyhound pub into a Tesco Express store.
Dartford Council has received 39 letters of objection from residents in the village who are opposed to plans to convert the pub in Main Road into a supermarket.
Sutton-at-Hone and Hawley Parish Council, Kent County Council’s highways department and the local branch of the Campaign for Real Ale have also opposed the plans.
One resident, who lives in Main Road, wrote: "The proposed Tesco Express would seriously threaten the survival of the local village businesses.
"There will be an increase in litter, loitering and the disturbance of car noises that are going in and out of the car park up to 11pm at night."
The application being considered by councillors on the development control board on Thursday (October 31) proposes to demolish the pub’s conservatory and toilet extension and install a new shop front.
It is recommended for refusal.
