MP and mayor hold House of Commons fundraiser for Kisharon and Barnet’s Armed Forces Welfare Fund
A buffet reception at the House of Commons raised money for injured soldiers and a Jewish charity that supports children with learning difficulties.
Finchley and Golders Green MP Mike Freer and Barnet Mayor Melvin Cohen hosted the event in aid of special needs charity Kisharon and Barnet’s Armed Forces Welfare Fund - the mayor’s two chosen charities.
A total of 70 guests, including London regiment representative Gary Anglin and Kisharon chief executive Beverley Jacobson gathered in the House of Commons on Thursday evening before being given a tour of the Houses of Parliament.
Organisers are still counting the proceeds raised on the night.
