Potential builders of the next generation created a futuristic city in a creative day at school.

Pupils from Unicorn School built a city from cardboard boxes on Wednesday, October 16, as part of national campaign the Big Draw, to get people more involved in art.

Ella, 7, said: “I made an office with colourful windows because I’d like the world to be brighter than it is now.”

The children were asked to think about what a city would look like in the future and design it.

Luca, 5, said: “I made a school because I love Unicorn so much and I think every town needs one.”

Ali Lim, head of art at the school, said: “We had a picture in our mind of what this cityscape might look like by the end of the day but what the children have created is incredible.

“There are so many great ideas here like birds that fly around eating pollution and a cloud factory.

“This has been a super opportunity to create a shared experience where the children discovered how exciting drawing can be on a large collaborative scale.”
