Tottenham man charged with Buckingham Palace trespass

A man has appeared in court charged after attempting to get into Buckingham Palace with a knife.
David Belmar, of South Tottenham, was charged with trespass on a protected site and possession of a bladed weapon.
Police say he tried to enter the palace through its north centre gate at just after 11.30am on yesterday morning.
He appeared at Westminster’s magistrate’s court today and was remanded in custody to be sentenced at a date yet to be set.
