Oxshott hair salon swaps fashion week for Cobham charity
Fresh from styling hair at this year’s New York Fashion Week, an Oxshott hair salon will be working behind the scenes on a catwalk show a little closer to home.
Clay Hair Salon will be grabbing their scissors, hair grips and brushes and doing their bit to support this year’s Fashion for Good events, which raise money for disadvantaged families who live in or around Cobham.
Dubbed the Surrey Fashion Weekender, the festivities will kick off on November 9 at Painshill Park with a four-course meal, awards show and live music followed by the main event, a catwalk show which features some of Surrey’s best designer boutiques.
Creating looks behind the scene will be Clay stylists, including prodigy Millie Bartlett, who jetted to the big apple for the famous fashion week.
James Davis, owner of Clay Hair Salon, said: “I feel truly honoured that my team have been asked to work alongside Fashion for Good at their catwalk show.
“Since opening the salon I have always stood by our charitable ethos, giving back to the community is so important because at the end of the day we are the community -team spirit is what makes us all flourish.
“For us to reach out a hand and partner with Fashion for Good is incredibly humbling, I am really looking forward to the events and knowing we are further improving the living standards of adults and children in our community.”
Over the past three years, the Fashion for Good events have raised more than £70,000 and it is hoped this year’s fundraising efforts further exceed the figure.
