Tottenham Hotspur Foundation to host job fair at White Hart Lane Stadium
The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation is hosting a job fair for under-25s to get more young people into work.
It will take place at White Hart Lane stadium, in Bill Nicholson Way, Tottenham on Monday from 10.30am to 5pm.
The foundation said it is committed to using the appeal of a Premier League football club to create employment opportunities for young people in the area.
According to the Institute for Fiscal Studies, 410,000 under-25s are currently on Job Seekers Allowance, costing the country £1.2billion a year.
A further 380,000 are on housing benefit, which costs a further £1.8billion.
Last week the Government announced that it intends to cut welfare benefits for under-25s not in education, employment or training.
This amounts to 15 per cent of the 16 to 24 age group nationally and foundation feels now is the time to make a concerted effort to create employment opportunities for young people.
