Ram Club, Thames Ditton, celebrates the big 3-0
The Ram Club will celebrate its 30th birthday with a whole host of live acts this month.
In traditional Ram Club style, the big 30 will be celebrated with a bit of noise as Peter Knight’s folk rock band Gigspanner take to the stage on October 25.
The trio comprising of Peter Knight, Roger Flack and Vincent Salzfaas use African percussion and guitar to make the sounds that go beyond traditional folk.
Steve Poole from the Ram Club says: “This is an important month for us as the Ram will be celebrating 30 years of existence on October 25.
“On that day the guest will be Peter Knight’s Gigspanner.
“We expect it to be a busy night so we are selling tickets for this night in advance at the club on Fridays.
“After that, we will carry on as ever, striving to put on the very best in folk and acoustic music in a venue that has become legendary and one that artists love to play.”
Coming up this weekend is Winter Wilson – made up of Dave Wilson and Kip Winter.
The pair have six albums to their name and have a bluesy-folk sound suited to the UK acoustic scene.
They have been playing together since 1995 and are known for their engaging and quirky live performances.
Established Ram Club favourite Paul Millns will also entertain the crowds with his soulful voice against a backdrop of the piano during this celebratory month.
Millns has previously toured the world with Alexis Korner, Eric Burdon, Dr Hook’s Dennis Locorriere, Bert Jansch and Jo Ann Kelly.
His own songs have also been covered by Elkie Brooks and Bonnie Tyler.
