Dream wedding ruined after stranger smashes into couple's maroon Morris Minor in Carshalton
A couple's plans for their big day have been scuppered after someone smashed into their beloved wedding chariot outside their house.
Dieselle May, of Stanley Park Road, Carshalton Beeches, had designs on coordinating her entire wedding around her beloved 1968 maroon Morris Minor convertible, but fears the vehicle could now be a write-off.
Singer Miss May had already picked out bridesmaids dresses, waistcoats and flowers to match the maroon of the car, which she was due to arrive at church in.
But now, with buckled wheels and a seriously damaged chassis, "Betsy" could be beyond repair.
Miss May said: "We love that car. Betsy has got so much character and we are devastated that we might not be able to drive her again.
"Whenever we take her out people always ask us about her and she was perfect for the wedding."
The incident occurred on Thursday October 3 sometime between 10:30am and 4:45pm on Stanley Park Road, Carshalton Beeches.

She added: "Judging by the damage caused it must have been hit with some force as the collision left the Minor pushed half up on the pavement.
"The collision must have caused damage to the other persons vehicle too, she’s a very distinctive car and the person responsible will be fully aware of what they have done.
"It's a busy road with a petrol station only a stones throw away. Someone must have seen something."
It is not the first time the couple have faced minor troubles on their road.
Betsy was bought to replace their last car which was written off in the early hours of new years Day 2010 when a driving instructor fell asleep at the wheel and careered into their brand new car.
Now the car's wheels have buckled and the chassis is damaged
Miss May is calling for witnesses to come forward and to contact her by email on email@example.com.
