Hertsmere Borough Council launches photo contest
Photographers in Potters Bar could win a cash prize for a snappy image showing why it is important to save water.
Hertsmere Borough Council has teamed up with Affinity Water and ‘Green Our Hearts’ to launch the contest to encourage people to stop wasting water.
Hertfordshire has one of the highest rates of water consumption in the country with people wasting 12 litres of water a day during activities such as teeth brushing and a long shower.
Posters have been put up on bus shelters with simple advice on how to reduce water use, and free shower and toothbrush timers are available from the council offices.
To enter the competition, use a smart phone or camera and send your photo with a title and short description to firstname.lastname@example.org by 5pm on Friday, November 22.
Entries will be judged on the creative and effective delivery of the water saving message. There will be first, second and third prizes of £75, £50 and £25 of shopping vouchers.
