Schoolchildren given tennis masterclass by Judy Murray
The mother of Wimbledon tennis champion Andy Murray was back in the borough this week helping schoolchildren improve their game.
Judy Murray founded Set4Sport in 2011 encouraging children to improve their co-ordination, balance and agility through games involving a free toolkit of activities.
Some of the games Ms Murray played with her sons, Grand Slam winner Andy Murray and former Wimbledon Mixed Doubles champion Jamie, as children more than 20 years ago.
The tennis coache made a special visit to St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Russell Road where she hosted a session with its students. She said: "I played ball games with Jamie and Andy almost as soon as they could walk. We didn’t know it then, but we were all taking part in the most basic of coaching sessions.
"Not only was it great fun but it also helped them develop the coordination skills that would allow them to play any sport competently in later life."
