Further security warning after three burglaries in Hersham
A home security warning has been issued by police after three burglaries in Hersham this week.
Two addresses in Mayfield Close and one home in Mayfield Road were burgled on Tuesday, September 24, between 7.50am and 1.15pm and in each incident, entry was gained by smashing a rear window and a quantity of jewellery and electrical items were stolen.
Detectives believe that all three offences are linked and are appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information.
Enquiries are being carried out and police want to speak to two men seen in the area at the time of the incidents.
One man was in a vehicle, which is described as a grey of blue Citroen Picasso, and is described as being eastern European and bald with stubble on his face.
The second man, who is also described as eastern European, is described as 5ft9 with short dark hair and between the ages of 18 to 24.
Detective Constable Jamie Spooner from Staines CID said: “We take burglary offences very seriously and are doing everything possible to track down those responsible.
“We would like to speak to the two men seen in the area at around the time of these incidents as they may be able to provide the vital information to help us with our enquiries and prevent further offences in the future.
“We are urging residents to remain vigilant and we are advising members of the public to take all necessary precautions to keep their property safe and deter thieves, such as storing valuable items like jewellery in a bank.
“We would also advise members of the public to register their property using Immobilise, a website which allows people to register their property as a unique item which is then given a serial number and added to a national database.”
Anyone with information should call Surrey Police on 101, quoting EL/13/6396, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
