Armed police surround Bexleyheath house in Chapel Road, Arnsberg Way, during three-hour standoff
ARMED police surrounded a house in Bexleyheath during a three-hour standoff yesterday morning.
Officers, including a dog unit, were called to a domestic disturbance at a home in Chapel Road, off Arnsberg Way, at 5.55am.
The road was shut after police were refused access to the property, which they wanted to enter to check the welfare of the people inside.
An armed unit also swooped on the house during the standoff, as it was believed a dangerous dog may be inside.
It was three hours later that officers finally gained entry.
A man and woman, both 33, were arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order offences and obstructing the police.
The man was later released without charge and the woman received an adult caution after admitting a public order offence.
