NHS boss responsible for Surbiton health centre to face critics
One of the people responsible for Surbiton health centre will come face to face with disabled people who say the new building is not up to scratch.
Wayne Walbrook, operations manager, will attend a health overview and scrutiny panel meeting on Wednesday evening.
He will face Theo Harris, chief executive Kingston Centre for Independent Living, Fran O’Brien, founder of Young & Disabled and Positively Artistic and Carol Barnshaw, chair of Kingston Association for the Blind.
Last month the Surrey Comet reported how blind patients described the centre as an “assault course” while wheelchair users said the corridors were too narrow.
The South West London Partnership has so far not commented on any of the issues.
The health overview and scrutiny panel will meet at 7.30pm on Wednesday, September 18 at Guildhall.
