Worker rushed to hospital after fall at disused building in South Darenth
A WORKER was rescued by firefighters and rushed to hospital after falling two metres from a scaffolding platform in South Darenth yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to a disused papermill in Horton Road at 4.40pm.
They found the worker, who was in his 60s, had fallen from a platform onto an intermediate floor, around 10m from the ground.
He was believed to have been working at the papermill, which is part-way through a renovation project, when he fell.
Firefighters used a ladder to reach the man before he was lowered to the ground on a stretcher.
Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service and the doctor from the Kent Air Ambulance then transferred him to hospital.
More to follow.
