Mandarin Chinese competition for schoolchildren
Schoolchildren have been invited to try out their Mandarin Chinese in a foreign language competition.
Primary, secondary and language school pupils have until October 15 to enter the Hua Hsia Mandarin Chinese Speaking Competition.
Each student needs to submit a one to two-minute voice recording on topics including Chinese poems, idioms or stories.
Ten students from the six to 12-year-olds category and ten from the 12 to 18-year-old category will be selected to take part in the finals on November 2.
Five overall winners from each group will win prizes including £50 vouchers, £30 vouchers and £10 vouchers.
