Harrow Borough Council wins award for work with small businesses
The council has won a business award for its work encouraging small companies in the borough.
Harrow Borough Council won the award at a ceremony last week organised by The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and London Councils.
The awards aim to highlight the work local authorities have done to support small and micro businesses.
Harrow won its award for its sustainable procurement project, which encouraged business from local suppliers, and for the introduction of an online procurement system.
Leader of the council Councillor Thaya Idaikkadar said the award showed the future of Harrow was bright due to the work of local businesses and the council would do what it could to protect them.
