WOOLWICH will welcome the Barclays Premier League trophy on Friday (September 6) as part of the local bank's 150th anniversary celebrations.
In what is likely to be the closest this piece of silverware comes to the area for some time, the trophy will be on display at the Woolwich New Road branch all day.
Customers who want to have their picture taken with the trophy can also make a charitable donation to Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice.
The branch was originally opened in 1863 at 30 Greens End and has moved four times to various addresses in Greens Road and Wellington Street before moving to its current location at 41 Woolwich New Road in 1989.
Its longest tenure was at 109 Wellington Street where it was based for 96 years.
