Parking charges go up at East Surrey Hospital
11:26am Monday 2nd September 2013 in News
Parking charges for patients and visitors at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill were due to rise from this week.
The charges affecting patients and visitors choosing to park at the hospital in Three Arch Road for three hours or less, were to go up by 20p from yesterday.
All other charges were to remain the same.
A statement from Surrey and Sussex Heathcare NHS Trust, which runs the hospital, said the rule that patients and visitors leaving the car park within 15 minutes do not have to pay, would also stay unchanged.
The statement continued: “This is the first price increase the hospital has made to patient and visitor car park charges for seven years, and is a similar cost to other local hospitals.
“The hospital has recently obtained planning permission to increase the size of the visitor car park and new lighting, CCTV and pay stations have been installed.
“Charges are in line with other comparable NHS hospitals and other parking charges in the South-east of England.”
The new price structure means the cost to park at the hospital for up to two hours is now £2.20, and for between two and three hours £3.20.
