Pinner toddler Erin Sleck takes part in British Transplant Games for Great Ormond Street
This adorable toddler helped keep Olympic spirit alive when she represented a Great Ormond Street Hospital in the British Transplant Games.
Erin Sleck, from Pinner, competed against athletes from other UK hospitals in the games – taking part in the 25m sprint, ball throw and the obstacle course event.
The three-year-old underwent a successful kidney transplant in autumn 2012 and was invited to take part in last week’s games, held in Sheffield, to help rebuild her confidence.
Team Managers for the hospital’s renal unit, Suzanne Collin and Suzanne Bradley, both said they were “incredibly proud” of Erin.
The annual games aim to encourage transplant patients to regain fitness and confidence, as well as giving them the chance to make friends.
