AN ASSAULT victim will “carry the scars for the rest of his life” after a “violent” argument in a Belvedere street over £80.

Detectives are now keen to track down the man they believe is responsible for the serious assault, which happened outside KA Barbers in Nuxley Road on August 3.

They believe the man is a 28-year-old Iranian Kurd called Shkar Farouk, who is also wanted by the UK Border Agency and in connection with burglaries in Stratford and Hendon.

Bexley Police Detective Chief Inspector Gary Holmes said: "This type of incident is very rare for this borough, it was a particularly violent assault from an argument over just £80.

“The 28-year-old victim was badly cut up and will carry the scars for the rest of his life.

“Under no circumstances should members of the public approach the suspect but immediately call 999 or Bexley CID.”

Police say Mr Farouk has no ties to the community and is known to work illegally.

He is described as 5ft 7ins tall and has black receding hair.

If you have had contact with Mr Farouk or have any information please call Bexley CID on 020 8284 9144 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
