A 19-year-old had to have surgery on his leg after he and his friends were attacked by a machete-wielding robber who crashed their house party.

Police were called to a hostel in Perth Road, Stroud Green, at around 4.50am to reports of a disturbance on Sunday, August 11. 

Officers found eight teenagers between the ages of 18 and19 years old had been robbed after a man holding a large knife had entered the room where they were having a party.

The attacker stole their mobile phones, purses, wallets and other personal possessions.

During the robbery a 19-year-old suffered a serious cut to his leg and cuts to his face and was taken to an east London hospital for surgery and is not is a stable condition.

An 18-year-old woman suffered a minor cut to her hand but did not require hospital treatment.

Haringey Police’s Robbery Squad is investigating the incident and are looking for a Somali male between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall.

During the attack he was wearing a black hoody with white cords around the edges and black tracksuit trousers.

He was also described as having facial hair, yellow teeth and an unusually large forehead.
