Surrey Community Music Society is on the hunt for a motivated individual to lead its community run Elmbridge Big Band.
The society is looking for a volunteer to inspire and challenge members musically, and who is committed to giving back to the community.
The 26-piece band rehearses weekly in Cobham and takes part in three to four concerts a year.
Cliff van Tonder, founder and musical director of Surrey Music, said: “We are looking for that special person who can engage with our members to take the band to the next level of musical excellence, while, importantly, having a good deal of enjoyment along the way.”
The new band leader will become part of a growing society currently including two choirs, a big band and a youth band.
The society raises funds for its own music grants scheme Get Music Going! which provides financial help and assistance for music-related activities within Surrey.
As Surrey Music is a charity, the role is unpaid. However the new leader will find a huge amount of support and encouragement.
