A 48-YEAR-OLD man is in a serious condition after being hit by a train at London Bridge station yesterday afternoon.
Commuters travelling in and out of the station faced long delays throughout the evening following the incident, which happened in the middle of the rush hour at 5.02pm.
There were particularly lengthy delays on the lines between London Bridge and Lewisham and Dartford.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: “BTP officers were called to London Bridge station after a man was struck by a train.
“The incident was reported to BTP at 5.02pm and was also attended by Metropolitan Police officers.
“Medics from the London Ambulance Service also attended and the 48-year-old man was treated at the scene for serious injuries before being taken to Royal London Hospital, where he remains.
He added: “Officers are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, which is currently being treated as non-suspicious.”
