A pensioner who died after being hit by a motorbike last week has been named by police.

Raxmo Sharif, 73, of Jersey Road, Leytonstone, died of her injuries in hospital after being hit by a motorbike in High Road, Leyton, at 4.50pm on Thursday.

A 28-year-old man from Stratford arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

It was reported that the woman’s daughter and grandchildren comforted her at the scene after she had been hit.

Shopkeepers in the area believe she had got off a bus and was attempting to cross the road at the time.
