A food festival for children will take place in Kingston next month over a jam-packed weekend.
The Children’s Food Festival will run alongside the Kingston Food Festival with most activities taking place in Memorial Gardens and at the Rotunda on August 10 and 11.
Soozie Campbell, Kingston Food Festival business organiser, said: “We want to educate children about good healthy eating.
"One of the things we do is the food bravery awards were they have to taste things that they wouldn’t otherwise eat.
"It is a great delight to see that they actually can open their minds to strange and yucky foods.”
Kids can learn to bake - and take home their own bread rolls - with classes from the Kids' Cookery School in Memorial Gardens.
Activities including face painting, a bouncy castle, and a giant tea cup ride will be on offer across the festival.
Bentalls will host children’s cookery workshops teaching five- to 11-year-olds how to make healthy meals and snacks on Thursday, August 8.
