An e-fit of a man who sexually assaulted a 21-year-old woman in a park has been released.

Richmond police have issued the e-fit as part of an appeal for witnesses and information after a sunbather was sexually assaulted in Bushy Park last week.

The incident happened after the victim fell asleep with headphones on and woke to being assaulted by the man who then made off towards the Sandy Lane Gate.

Officers were called to the scene at about 11.45am on Thursday, July 11, after the woman was assaulted by the man, who was white, in his late 20s wearing a white T-shirt and dark tracksuit bottoms.

Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Andy Dunn said: "Something which may seem unimportant in its own may be crucial to the investigation so please do come forward no matter how insignificant you think the information might be."
