A supermarket launched its annual charity appeal which included live music, face painting and massage therapists for shoppers.

Stanmore Sainsbury’s launched its chosen charity appeal for the year in aid of The Disability Foundation, based at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Brockley Hill, Stanmore.

At the event, the foundation’s Neville Gardner orchestra performed for shoppers, youngsters were able to get their face painted and people were able to sample some of the massage therapy the foundation provides.

The Disability Foundation provides complementary therapy services, which include remedial massage and reflexology, for disabled people.

From the day’s event, staff collected £600 worth of donations from shoppers and the store donated £500 to help pay for a new therapy couch and laptop for the foundation.
