POLICE are appealing for witnesses to yesterday’s fatal collision in Lewisham.
Emergency services were called to Loampit Vale, Lewisham, just before 8am yesterday morning (June 24), after receiving reports of a car in collision with a cyclist.
The cyclist, who is believed to be in his 30s, was taken to a south London hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Next of kin were aware but formal identification of the victim has yet to take place.
The car involved - a red Audi - did not initially stop at the scene but was located a short distance away.
Its driver, a 28-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
He remains in custody at a south London police station.
