A supermarket has chosen to support a charity for disabled children for the second year running.

Customers at Sainsbury’s in Potters Bar helped vote for the town’s Children with Special Needs and Disabilities group as the store’s chosen charity for the year.

The group, which provides support and advice to parents of children with special needs and disabilities, received £2,360 last year through fundraisers including dressing up days, books sales and entertainment evenings.

The partnership is part of the national supermarket chain’s Local Charity Partnership, which has raised more than £5million for good causes over the past four years.

Paula Pearce, from the Potters Bar charity, based in Mutton Lane, said: “When we received the recent phone-call to tell us the news, we were thrilled.

“The exposure and support is going to be massively beneficial to our charity and I’d like to thank every customer who voted.”
